  • Happy New Year.
    Well first off I apologize for not getting much on this site updated over the last 6 months. There's much more going on in my life other then the Internet.

    The proxy lists are 90% dead and have been deleted for now. Throughout '98 and '99 as proxy use picked up and took off, proxys started dying faster and faster. Making a physcial updating and testing of our proxys and proxy lists very time consuming. If your looking for proxy lists try the messasge board or Free Proxy Public Servers List & Anonymous Proxy List.

    Plans for site updates are in the works. - don't hold your breath ;>

    RESEARCH NOTES
    Proxy research, verification & usage:

  • Some proxys may be very slow due to large amounts of users online at certain times of the day. Try another time or another proxy.

  • I attempt to regularly test all proxy list [usually once a month], if you notice a proxy that has been closed please let me know so I can vefity it and update the lists.

  • HTTP connections are always tested. FTP, GOPHER, WAIS and SECURITY are not tested any more [until I get some more automatation]. So you may want to test them even it doesn't have it listed. Let me know is you find a connection that we don't have listed.

  • Closed proxys are always tested again (if possible from several different IP's) to make sure they are actually closed. I am finding that many proxys have just been closed to certain IP's and not others.

  • Users from far away lands with repressive governments:
    .ae [United Arab Emirates] has one ISP which filters it traffic heavily and closes traffic to most known proxys and proxy ports.
    .qa [Qatar] filters its traffic and and closes traffic to many known proxys and proxy ports.
    .sa [Saudi Arabia] filters its traffic and and closes traffic to many known proxys and proxy ports.

    PROXYS 4 ALL - HISTORY
    After spending multiple hours searching for proxy information and spending many harrowing hours on Chinese and Japonaise web sites, deciphering what I could. I realized that wasn't any english site that had a lot of info on proxys.

    Proxys 4 All was started as a side project by me p4all in Oct. '98.
    The original site was at http://cool.icestorm.com/proxys/

    The site then moved to http://proxys4all.bikkel.com thanx to Demoniz and the former "100% Pure Bikkel" web site. In early May Bikkel.com had its hosting pulled and the site the moved to its current home at http://proxys4all.cgi.net hosted by CGI.net.

    The site then moved to http://www.proxys4all.com .

    It's main purpose: to provide detailed research and information on using proxys to enhance Internet privacy and anonymity.

    Traffic and praise for the web site has picked up steadily, the site now receives 500,000+ page views a month (Jul. '01)
